How Quality Body Shop started
Ernest and Henry Yoder, brothers born and raised in Reno County, opened their doors on December 4, 1974. They had spent years in the body and paint department at A.D. Ford Motor Co., and they shared a goal of running a shop of their own.
From day one, they built it to handle more than cars, taking in collision repair for heavy trucks, RVs, and agricultural equipment, the kind of work that still sets the shop apart in this part of Kansas.
Two generations, one family
After more than 50 years, Don and Terry Yoder, the sons of Ernest and Henry, bought the business from their fathers.
They grew up around the shop, learned the trade, and they now run it the way they were taught. They stay true to the values their fathers handed down to them both: integrity, quality, and a hardworking spirit. It is still a Yoder family business, the way it has been since 1974.
What we believe
The Yoders have always seen the shop as more than a way to make a living. They are grateful for the chance to do honest work, to provide for the people who work here, and to contribute to the Hutchinson community. That belief shows up in how each repair is handled: do it correctly, tell the customer the truth about what the vehicle needs, and stand behind the result.
What has changed, and what hasn't
A lot about collision repair has changed since 1974. Vehicles now carry cameras and sensors that have to be recalibrated after a crash, paint is matched by a computer, and certifications keep technicians current on how each manufacturer wants a vehicle repaired. We have kept up with all of it. What has not changed is the standard the Yoder brothers set on day one: a repair is not finished until it is done right.

Those booths are the reason a semi, an RV, or a bus can be refinished here. They are also why owners haul large vehicles to us from as far as Wichita, Newton, and McPherson, well beyond our home base in Reno County.

Quality Body Shop is I-CAR certified, and our technicians carry manufacturer training for GM, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, and Chrysler, so each vehicle is repaired the way its maker specifies. We handle ADAS calibration, paint with the AkzoNobel system, and hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
